Smelt Fry 2025

The City of Beaver Bay, along with Baptism River BBQ and The Green Door, proudly announces the 2025 Smelt Fry scheduled for Saturday, May 17, 2025. This year, the smelt will hopefully be locally sourced right out of Beaver River! The meal includes the original all-you-can-eat original smelt fry recipe, along with chips, tarter sauce, coleslaw, and orange drink. The meal will be served from 11:00 - 3:00.

Advance sale tickets sell for $10 are available at The Green Door, Julie's True Value in Silver Bay, and at the Finland Cooperative. Advanced sale tickets are available until May 10, 2025, tickets thereafter are $15 the day of.

All proceeds go back to the Smelt Fry to continue this tradition in our community for years to come.

Along with this traditional event will be the 7th annual Outdoor Sports Expo which with vendor booths, local outdoor and adventure businesses, and a silent auction which benefits Outdoor Youth Sports in Lake County. This event goes from 11:00 - 5:00.

The Green Door will also have live music all day and a bounce house.
